This trek is more recommended because you have more time to enjoy the views and going slow taking pictures. The level of this hiking is easy. The first day trek is around 3 ½ hours, second day trek is 4 ½ hours and the last day 3 hours. The trail is down hill-flat and up hill altitudes from 3300 till 1900 m.a.s.l. No acclimatization is necessary when you are coming from Arequipa , Puno, Cusco even lower altitudes.

FIRST DAY:
03:00/3.30 a.m. Pick you ap at your hotel and deperture from Arequipa (2325 m.a.s.l); after 3.30 hrsdriving we have one stop in Chivay to enjoy a breakfast, later we continue to the most visited poit "La Cruz del Condor" where we spend time to see the Condors fly, then we go on with the bus for 30 minutes to Cabanacode, where we start the trek down hill but before we have a lunch in this town.

p.m after lunch the trekking down hill starts from( 3300mt) to reach the bottom ( 3 hours and a half aproximatly) at the altitude of 2100 mt.

p.m. Dinner an over night in San Juan de Chuccho village ( place of tropical enviroment with a lot of vegetation); the accommodation here is in basic rooms (local family places).

SECOND DAY:
8.00 am after breakfast we continue to Cosñirhua town; its a nice place where you can see and taste honney, production made by local people. it is possible to see arqueological remains around the area left by pre - Inca cultures. Going on flat we reach Malata town with its very old spanish church design; then we descent to the deepest part of our trek 1900 mt . " Sangalle Village ", Place to enjoy the swimming pool 20º C of temperatured water.

p.m. Dinner and Over night in bungalows made of bamboo .

THIRD DAY:
5.00 hrs Trek up hill to Cabanaconde ( 3 hours aproximatly).

a.m. Arrival and breakfast in Cabanaconde to take our transport to Chivay on the way back to Arequipa.

a.m. Arrival to Chivay toward the hot springs "la Calera", 38°C. Temperature.

p.m. Typical lunch of the region.

p.m. Transport back to Arequipa . On the way we descend from 4830 a.s.l. to 2 325 a.s.l. and passing through a Nacional Reserve and Pampa Cañahuas habit of the four kind of south American camelides.(llama. Alpaca, vicuña and guanaco)

It is the best way to take a full tour having a complit visit on the Colca area, this tour gives you the option to sleep the first night in Chivay and enjoy its hot springs and folklore shows by night, the second night you sleep on the bottom of the Canyon “Sangalle”.you can choose also the quality of hotel in Chivay  for your first night, By the way! this point makes the price of the tour.

Itinerary:

Day 1: AREQUIPA / CHIVAY
At 08:00 a.m. Pick you up at your Hotel  with a private transport  with a group of about  15 participants in our mini van then departure from Arequipa ( 2325 m.a.s.l) towards north west direcction behind snow-covered Chachani; we see wild vicuñas, alpacas & llamas in Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds like flamingoes, ibis, andean gooze, ducks, andean eagle "Kara Kara" view point of the Volcanoes andsnow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l). Arrive in Chivay(3600 m.a.s.l), capital of the valley. Afternoon obtional visit to the thermal springs & pools in La Calera 40ºC.
(Admission to the pools not included, about $6 per person). Overnight.

Day 2: CHIVAY / CRUZ DEL CONDOR / BOTTOM OF COLCA CANYON
Early morning after breakfast (06:00) we leave for a full day excursion on the left shore and bottom of the canyon.
On the way to Cruz del Condor we visit a  tipical town, Yanque or Maca  with its colonial churches, gently people with tipical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre inca terraces still in use with andean growings like corn, quinua, kiwicha among others. After a 2 hrs drinving we get the most visited point “ the cross of the condor” here we are able to see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condors.
At this point we meet our trekking guide to go down on the canyon for 3hrs aprox (this is about 1000 mts down).
Alter Lunch we rest in San Juan de Chuccho village (place with plantly of frut trees).
By the afternoon we continue to Cosñirhua and Malata towns (very pinturesque places with a lot of vegetation, a museum, its very old spanish church stile, and very fliendly local people). Then time to start the descending hike this time to the deepest part of our trek to reach "Sangalle Village " at the altitude of 1900 mt aprox., Place to enjoy the swimming pool of temperatured water of 20ºC.

DAY 3: COLCA CANYON /AREQUIPA
At about  05.00 we estar the trek up hill to Cabanaconde town for 3 hours aproximatly (here is optional to hire a mule  and  takes about 1.45 hrs to go up). After breakfast in Cabanaconde we take the bus back to Arequipa on the way there is a stop in Chivay for lunch and other option to go to the hot spring, later about 14:30 hrs we start to come back to Arequipa. On the way we descend from 4830 a.s.l. to 2 325 a.s.l. and passing through a Nacional Reserve and Pampa Cañahuas habit of the four kind of south American camelides.(llama. Alpaca, vicuña and huanaco).
Arrival time in Arequipa 18.00 hrs. aprox.
