Itinerary.
Day 1: LIMA
Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: LIMA (B)
A leasure day and an optional walking tour through the historic center of Lima, including the cathedral and the San Francisco catacombs. Evening flight to Arequipa, overnight.
Day 3: AREQUIPA (B)
City tour in Arequipa, overnight in hotel.
Day 4: CABANACONDE (B,L,D)
We leave Arequipa at 7:00 am and arrive at Cabanaconde near the edge of the Colca Canyon, after lunch we start trekking down into the canyon. Overnight in basic lodges.
Day 5: COLCA CANYON (B,L)
A full day of trekking in the Colca Canyon, uphill as well as downhill. Halfway we have the opportunity to take a jump in a swimming pool. In the afternoon we return back to Cabanaconde, overnight.
Day 6: PUNO (B)
After breakfast we take a short busride to the "Cruz del Condor", where we can observe the flight of the condors. After a stop in Chivay for lunch (optional: visit to the hot springs) we continue the trip to Puno.
Day 7: TITICACA LAKE (B)
Free morning. In the afternoon a visit by boat to the floating islands named "Uros". After the visit we travel back to Puno, overnight.
Day 8: PUNO - CUZCO (B,L)
Departure by bus to Cuzco, during the ride we visit Inca ruins, the remains of the Viracocha temple and the steaming volcanic pools at La Raya. Overnight in Cuzco.
Day 9: CUZCO (B)
Today is a free day, in the night we have a briefing for the Inca Trail, overnight in Cuzco.
Day 10: INKA TRAIL: Piscacucho - Patallacta - Huayllabamba (B,L,D)
The Inka trail will take 4 days 3 nights in total.
We start our trek escorted by native "quechua" porters going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped mountain Veronica, later going through Llactapata, an ancient Inca citadel that protected the entry to the two valleys.

Day 11: INKA TRAIL: Huayllabamba - Pacaymayo (B,L,D)
Today, the first part of the trek takes us to the Inca Hamlet of Huayabamba.
Later we will go through the Warmiwañuska pass (4.200 m), known as the "dead woman's pass".

Day 12: INKA TRAIL: Pacaymayo - Wiñayhuayna (B,L,D)
Today we walk on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient archaeological sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth, later visiting the Phuyupatamarca ("city above clouds") with spectacular view of snow covered Andean ranges. We camp at Wyñaywayna, probably the most spectacular archaeological complex during the trek.

Day 13: INKA TRAIL: Wiñayhuayna - Intipunku - Machu Picchu - Cusco (B)
Passing through the Intipunku (Gate of the Sun), we arrive to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. We will begin a complete guided tour. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight in Aguas calientes. In the afternoon, we take the train to Ollantaytambo and return to our hotel in Cusco.

Day 14: CUZCO / LIMA / HUARAZ (B)
Free Morning.
In the afternoon, flight to Lima to make a connection to Huaraz by bus.
Day 15: HUARAZ (B)
Today is a free day, overnight in Huaraz .
Day 16: HUARAZ - VAQUERIA (B,L,D)
We leave from the hotel to Llanganuco lagoon in Huscarán National Park. During hte trke we will see the snowy peaks of Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju and Huascarán – at 6.867 metres the highest mountain in Peru. We stop in Vaqueria, at 3.700 metres.
Day 17: VAQUERIA - PARIA (B,L,D)
Today the real trekking starts! We begin early in the morning after breakfast, heading downhill to Huaripampa. Afterwards we head up the Huaripampa gorge passing through a forest of queñua trees. At Paria we stop and make camp.
Day 18: PARIA - TAULLIPAMPA (B,L,D)
After breakfast we start the day climbing up the Tuctu gorge to the Punta Union pass at 4.750 metres. We continue with a walk down to Taullipampa at 4.000 metres, where we set up camp.
Day 19: TAULLIPAMPA - LLAMACORRAL (B,L,D)
After breakfast we go downhill to the Santa Cruz gorge, where we stop at Quisuarpampa to view the peak of Nevado Alpamayo. We continue our trek through the gorge and pass the Jatuncocha and Ichickcocha lagoons where we can observe different species of silver ducks. We make camp at Llamacorral at 3.500 metres.
Day 20: LLAMACORAL - HUARAZ (B,L)
The morning starts with three hours trekking down the Santa Cruz gorge. We arrive at Cashapampa, where the trek ends. We meet our transport to bring us to the hotel in Huaraz.
Day 21: HUARAZ - LIMA (B)
In the morning, we take the bus to Lima.
