 The Chachani massif, which can be seen very well from Arequipa, is a    complex massif with many summits but very little snow. There are archaeological   remains near the summit.
 
 Technical   information:
 Classification: moderate
 Maximum   altitude: 6.075 m.a s l.
 
 The best time to climb in this   region is between April and September, during the Andean summer.
 During the rest of the year, it is also possible to climb,   but it is more likely to have some bad weather.
 The rescue police   sees for the safety of all mountaineers in the region.
 
 ITINERARY.
 
 DAY 1.
 In the morning we pick you 
        up from your hotel. After a ride of about 4 hours we arrive at an altitude of 5.000 m.a.s.l., where we will leave the car and continue walking until we reach the place to install our basecamp at an altitude of 5.400 m.a.s.l. Here we will have dinner and sleep in tents.
 
 Day 2.
 At 03.00 a.m. we will wake up and start our climb to the summit. We will use  known paths, and after approximately 6 hours we will reach the summit. Here we will take our time to enjoy the magnificent view towards Arequipa as well as the Altiplano.
 After we have enjoyed the view, we will descent in approximately 2 hours to the basecamp, where we will collect our gear. After descending back to the car, we will return to Arequipa.
